Acts Chapter 13-14

Pastor Ed looks at Paul's First Missionary Journey—some keys to note happen before the mission begins. The leaders prayed and fasted, seeking God and in doing so, the Holy Spirit selected and called Barnabas and Saul for a special duty. They are to take the Gospel message to the Gentiles. Pastor Ed noted different points in the journey. However, the fact that Saul (Paul) and Barnabas first went to the Jewish synagogues is key. At first, they were excited about the message until they became jealous since almost the whole town showed up to hear the message the following week. After this, the Jews stirred up trouble and caused division, yet, the Gentiles received the message of forgiveness, hope, and repentance with honor.
