The Call of the Disciples, The Promis of Making Fishers of Men
Our service began with baptisms and new membership. Parents, Godparents, friends, families, and our own Church body made commitments to nurture and grow these individuals in their walk with God. That is the same invitation that Jesus gave to those He called. Then Jesus began to go through the villages and towns proclaiming the good news. His message was more than just hope, it brought healing, forgiveness, restoration, and the opportunity to overcome the trappings of this world.
We are not called to be in the original 12 disciples, but we are called to speak to the way Christ has healed us. Each of our healings is different and that is why each one of us has a unique story of how we have been healed. We are called to tell our story. Our story of what was dead and decaying in us, how we were healed, and how we were made whole again.
We need to fish for men. Is telling the gospel message a way of life for us? Are we willing to fish and do we recognize the glory that God has for all of us?
