Our Failure to focus on the right things.

Jesus brings a child into the midst of the adults and says become like a child. Vulnerable like a child, with their child-like faith. We rationalize, and yet children believe with innocence. Children accept, and we doubt.

Jesus called the disciples to be like children and believe with their eyes and their hearts, not with their intellect and their reason. Jesus warned the disciples that the sheep would wander away from God and not to let them perish.

So, where are you focused? Are you coming to the service tonight and looking through the eyes of a child, remembering the many stories and times of God, recognizing His glory, or are your eyes on something else?

On this night, when they told the story of God from creation to the present day, the disciples still misunderstood and lost their focus. Where are you focused?
