Eating the Bread of Life

Jun 1, 2025    Pastor Ed Rinehart

Last week, we looked at Daniel and his decision not to defile himself as he was captured and selected to be in the King's service. He chose to maintain his relationship with God. We can look into the history presented to us through the bible and other texts and see through the years the choice, or lack of, to maintain the relationships with God.

The covenant that Jesus fulfilled started with a call on Abram's life. A call to be obedient, to make God a priority, to trust God, and to be a child of God. This is the same call of Christ. To follow Christ and be in relationship with Christ. This relationship is a covenant agreement. It is made between you and Christ.

In partaking in Holy Communion, we are committing to being willing to die that others might find eternal life in Christ. Holy Communion is not only about our sins being forgiven and us being restored, but it is equally important that we are commissioned to do the work and will of Christ and God.
